A tragic accident occurred at the PMDC Coal Mine at approximately 4:00 PM on 30 July 2026. A total of 34 workers were inside the mine at the time of the incident. Sadly, all 34 workers lost their lives.

– Accident occurred at the PMDC Coal Mine.
– 30 July (Evening) – 31 July (5:30 AM): Rescue and recovery operation continued throughout the night.
– 31 July – 5:30 AM: The rescue operation was concluded.

– Bodies still trapped: 2 (located in a highly complex and inaccessible area)

*Medical Response by MERC 1122*

The MERC 1122 medical team provided emergency post-recovery care. The recovered bodies requiring medical handling were cleaned, necessary sutures (stitches) were applied where required, first aid procedures were completed, and the bodies were respectfully prepared and dispatched to the concerned authorities and families.
